Things should be uncomplicated on vacation! Our simple self check-in offers you even more freedom and flexibility when arriving. You will receive all important information and brief check-in instructions by email before your arrival. There is no traditional reception on site.

We take care of your wishes, organize reservations in restaurants, arrange appointments with the hairdresser, for cosmetics & massage or for other concerns. At the AlpinLodges Matrei you will want for nothing! All our apartments include a free basic set for kitchen and bathroom. You will find kitchen rolls, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent, garbage bags and kitchen linen on site. For your bathroom we provide toilet paper, facial tissues, hotel cosmetics as well as hand and bath towels in terry cloth quality.
Would you like a transfer to Matrei from Klagenfurt, Innsbruck or Salzburg airports? In winter there is a special offer every Saturday for EUR 39,– per person and route. For the ultimate skiing experience, good equipment is important. The sports shops in Matrei offer a large selection of winter sports equipment and ski clothing as well as modern ski, snowboard and boot rental. Here you can get top models customized for you directly by the experts.
Beginners and experts benefit from the wide range of courses and the high level of competence of the ski guides. Four ski schools in the Matrei-Kals ski area offer courses for children and adults.
The modern alpine architecture blends harmoniously into the Tyrolean mountains. Elegant simplicity and charming comfort dominate here. The size of the apartments ranges from 78 m² to 150 m² and includes two to four bedrooms, a modern kitchen, one or more bathrooms and a spacious living-dining area with comfortable sofas and armchairs.
Our kitchens are first-class equipped and offer everything to make your cooking experience on holiday as pleasant as possible. Here you will find everything you need to conjure up a fine meal or a tasty snack with regional delicacies with your family or friends. Everything is even available for an entertaining fondue evening. Our kitchens contain all utensils from champagne glasses to hand mixers: dishes, Nespresso capsule machine, toaster, mixer, microwave, oven, ceramic hob, fridge-freezer combination, washing machine incl. dryer.
Enjoy nature and recharge your batteries. While you relax by the pool and enjoy the sun, you can admire the impressive mountain scenery. Our outdoor pool is 10.4 x 7.2 meters and is open from May to September. This offers you a pleasant refreshment in the warm summer months. Comfortable loungers around the pool area invite you to relax.
The best time is family time. And to make sure that this is the case, our little guests are very welcome in the AlpinLodges. In the outdoor pool, the little ones race with their dad or are proud of their first attempts at diving. A spacious outdoor area with a playground and plenty of space for ball games in nature ensure a relaxed atmosphere. We provide you with a comfortable wooden cot, fine children’s bed linen, high chair, diaper pail and children’s stool. Please let us know your wishes when you reserve your apartment.
Pure feel-good experience from the very first moment. The AlpinLodges Matrei consist of seven houses in unobtrusive, nature-inspired architecture. The common areas and the spacious outdoor facilities exude an elegant and charming flair. We reserve a free parking space in our underground car park for our guests. You can store your ski equipment and, in summer, your bicycles in the locked and heated ski and sports equipment room. From May to September you can swim laps in our outdoor pool.
The crowning glory of well-being is a fireplace. In front of the crackling fire it becomes really cozy and homely in the evening. Some of our premium apartments have their own fireplaces with firewood and firelighters. Lean back on the couch in your pajamas and enjoy the alpine cosiness.
What’s the point of the best vacation if your beloved dog has to stay at home? Dogs are welcome in the AlpinLodges. For an additional charge, depending on the size of the apartment, we offer you a dog blanket, stainless steel feeding bowls and dog walking bags. Please let us know your wishes when you reserve your apartment.
Großglockner, Großvenediger and Co: East Tyrol is home to the highest mountains in Austria. An impressive 266 three-thousand-meter peaks rise into the sky on this wonderful spot on earth. East Tyrol, as an exclave of the federal state of Tyrol, stretches from the imposing rocks of the Hohe Tauern to the impressive peaks of the Lienz Dolomites. This region includes 33 municipalities, many of which are located on the sunny side of the Alps. The southern flair is particularly noticeable in the district capital Lienz.

Matrei is the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park and, thanks to its convenient location, the perfect starting point for unforgettable expeditions for young and old.
We felt very welcome and comfortable!!! The welcome package was also very nice (there were even bowls, a dog mat and treats for our dog, and pasta and sauce for us); everything else was there too (towels, soap, toilet paper, dishwasher tablets and towels, garbage bags, etc.); the apartment was bright and big, with a lovely terrace and garden, we really enjoyed the sun there; the underground parking space and the ski room were also great (it was in a different building, but on the way to the ski bus, so it wasn’t a problem); housekeeper Erika kept asking if we needed anything and we got some things in the middle of the week – thank you for that!
Very centrally located in Matrei, surrounded by a great mountain backdrop. The pool was the highlight for the kids.
Very relaxed and quiet location. Apartment well equipped. Beautiful surroundings, lots of nature and great hikes. Nice pool. The housekeeper Erika was very friendly and helpful.
Very hospitable, clean and everyone very nice. There was also a welcome basket with treats for our four-legged friend. Simply great and recommendable.
High quality apartment. Access to a communal pool was great. Underground parking in the building was a real plus. Location of the complex very central. Mattresses were hard.
Well-equipped holiday apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There was nothing missing. The pool is the highlight of the complex. The housekeeper was always available and was able to give us great tips for excursions.
