Activities in Klösterle, Vorarlberg

Ski resorts

Whether on family-friendly slopes in the Sonnenkopf ski area in the Klostertal, or sporty valley runs in the Arlberg ski areas – all winter sports enthusiasts will find ideal conditions during their winter holiday in Klösterle.

The Sonnenkopf is one of the few natural snow ski areas and is known to be particularly family-friendly. In the ski area you can expect over 30 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes with various levels of difficulty.

You can experience unlimited skiing fun on over 300 kilometres of slopes in the Arlberg ski area – the largest ski area in Austria. With the ski bus 720 you can travel comfortably and free of charge with your guest card from Klösterle (stop at the resort) to Stuben. From there, the Albonabahn 1 cable car takes you to the ski areas of Lech/Warth, St. Anton and St. Christoph.

Tobogganing fun

With the daily opening times of the Sonnenkopfbahn cable car, even non-skiers can have fun tobogganing all day long.

The toboggan run leads from the mountain station to the middle station and is a great change with a length of 2 km and several steep sections.

You will find a toboggan rental directly at the valley station at Intersport. The mountain restaurant at Sonnenkopf is a great place to stop for refreshment between meals. Let yourself be pampered with Austrian delicacies and the impressive mountain view.

With sufficient snow, a sledding session at the “Fuchslochbühel” in Klösterle is great fun! The sledding hill, along with the children’s practice lift, is located directly behind the church. The facility operates daily in winter from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Snowshoeing and winter hiking

On the sunny plateau of the Sonnenkopf there are three beautiful winter hiking trails with great views. The more than 7 km long path to the “Muttjöchle” is one of the most beautiful winter hiking tours in Vorarlberg.

A snowshoe rental (Intersport) is located directly at the valley station. The Muttjöchle mountain restaurant invites you to take a relaxing break. Treat yourself to a rest in the deck chairs and enjoy your holiday day.

Winter hiking in Klösterle is a wonderful experience in the fresh winter air. A leisurely winter hiking trail starts right at the cross-country ski run at our resort and leads to the valley station of the Sonnenkopfbahn. The path is about three and a half kilometers long and is also recommended for children. The trail, like all other winter hiking paths around Klösterle, is well-marked.
